Carrots Sold Nationwide and in Canada Recalled Due To E. coli Outbreak

On November 16, Grimmway Farms issued a recall of select organic whole and baby carrots because they may be contaminated with E. coli. The recalled products were distributed to nationwide grocery stores in the United States, Puerto Rico, and Canada and involve well over a dozen brands, including those available at major retailers such as Kroger, Whole Foods, Wegman’s, Trader Joes’, Sprouts, and LIDL.

The full list of recalled products, including images, can be found on the FDA’s website.

Check your refrigerator and freezer for the recalled carrots, discard them, and wash your hands immediately. The CDC advises that if you bought organic whole or baby carrots, they are no longer stored in the original packaging, and you don’t remember the brand name, it is best to throw them away.

For questions, contact Grimmway Farms’ customer service desk at 800-301-3101, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. ET or at www.grimmway.com.

Over 167,000 Pounds of Ground Beef Recalled Due to Possible E. coli Contamination

On November 20, Wolverine Packing Co. recalled about 167,277 pounds of ground beef products because of potential E. coli contamination.

According to a Wolverine Packing Co. representative, the recalled products were distributed to restaurants nationwide. None were distributed to grocery stores. The recalled fresh ground beef products have a use-by date of 11/14/2024, and the frozen ground beef products are labeled with a production date of 10 22 24. The recalled products bear an establishment number “EST. 2574B,” which can be found inside the USDA mark of inspection.

You can find the list of recalled products and labels on the FSIS website.

All restaurants were informed of the recall, and the recalled products should no longer be available for sale to customers. However, if you purchased food containing ground beef and still have it in your fridge or freezer, you will not know if it contains the recalled ground beef unless you contact the restaurant and confirm. If you are uncertain, it’s safest to discard the product. Do not consume it.

If you have questions about the recalled ground beef, you can contact Don Tanner, a representative of Wolverine Packing Co., at 248-762-1533.
