Ticketmaster just cancelled the public on-sale for Taylor Swift‘s The Eras Tour.
The 32-year-old “Teardrops on My Guitar” singer’s verified fans crashed the ticket site on Tuesday (November 15) and took to social media to detail the problems they ran into securing tickets. A Capital One presale took place the next day, and some fans experienced similar problems.
On Thursday (November 17), Ticketmaster took to social media to confirm that the public on-sale event would not go forward as originally planned.

“Due to extraordinarily high demands on ticketing systems and insufficient remaining ticket inventory to meet that demand, tomorrow’s public on-sale for Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour has been cancelled,” the company tweeted.
The news comes after Live Nation CEO Michael Rapino announced that 3.5 million Swifties registered for the verified fan presale event. Of that number, 1.5 million were able to access the first presale.
“We sold 2 million tickets, the most we’ve ever sold in one day in history, and another million tickets of other artists on the same day,” Michael said of Tuesday’s difficulties, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
He also addressed the delays that people ran into: “So although we regret it was a slowdown in some queues and some error codes for a short period for some fans, we did manage to recover.”
Taylor has expanded the tour twice since first announcing it. Most recently she added 17 dates.
