Last year Oppo’s annual Inno Day event was scheduled for December 14 – day 1 brought MariSilicon X and out there things like a retractable camera, day 2 is when the Oppo Find N arrived. Now there is talk of a sequel and you wouldn’t be surprised to hear that it is expected to be unveiled at Inno Day 2022.
Leakster Digital Chat Station says that the Oppo Find N2 and the new Oppo Find N2 Flip will probably be unveiled at the annual tech event. Oppo hasn’t set an official date yet, but it is usually in mid-December.
The company has already sent out invites for the Oppo Reno9 series launch on November 24 (Thursday), but that event will be exclusively focused on the mid-rangers. Based on rumors, we expect to see models based on the Snapdragon 778G, Dimensity 8100 and the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. Also, the company officially teased a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 based phone – the Oppo Find X6 Pro – which is likely to arrive before the end of the year as well.
So, what about the Oppo Find N2? Leaked screenshots suggest that the new foldable will fall in between with a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset (12GB RAM, 256GB storage), plus a MariSilicon X chip for image processing.
When opened, the internal display will measure 7.1”, a 120Hz LTPO AMOLED panel. The phone will pack a 4,520mAh battery and aims to be the lightest horizontal foldable yet. As for cameras, rumors claim a 50+48+32MP setup that will be shared with the OnePlus 11.
The vertical foldable, the Oppo Find N2 Flip, will have a 6.8” internal and 3.26” external displays, according to DCS, both OLED. Its 50MP main cam will use the older IMX766 sensor (the bigger model will get the IMX890 instead) and an 8MP ultra wide. This one should be powered by a 4,300mAh battery, the chipset might be the Dimensity 9000.
Oppo probably wants to finish up the Reno9 announcement first before announcing Inno Day 2022. It might be a “one more thing” at the end of the event, so check back on Thursday. It will be a busy few months for Oppo.
