Theo James made three Divergent movies and the fourth one was canceled by the studio, which was probably a relief to him.
The 37-year-old actor has made some new comments in which he says acting in movies like Divergent is “pretty f–king boring.”
Theo played Tobias, aka Four, in the franchise, which also starred Shailene Woodley.
“You do a certain type of film and you sign contracts where you are beholden to those roles for a certain period of time and people see you in a certain light that you have to wrestle your way out of,” he said in a new profile for Vanity Fair. “That is a hundred percent the case with actors — and it was definitely the case with me.”

Theo added, “I felt I didn’t have the fluidity to move in the directions that I wanted. You’re very much in a certain type of role — and those roles can be pretty f—ing boring.”
Divergent wasn’t Theo‘s only film franchise. He also starred in two Underworld movies and now is starring in season two of HBO’s Emmy-winning series The White Lotus.
He recently revealed what his full frontal scene almost looked like.
