Legendary Reporter Barbara Walters Dead at 93

Barbara Walters, the legendary reporter responsible for the creation of The View amongst other amazing accomplishments, passed away at the age of 93.

The broadcaster was a longtime member of the ABC News staff. The network confirmed the sad news and paid tribute to her legacy.

Barbara broke down barriers in the industry, becoming the first woman to anchor an evening news show after joining ABC in 1976. She has conducted interviews with the likes of Lucille Ball, John Wayne, Michael Jackson, Miley Cyrus and countless other stars and political figures over the years.

Her other accomplishments include co-hosting 20/20 and picking up 12 Emmys over the years before announcing plans to retire in 2014. That was the year of her last appearance on The View.

She will be missed.
