Buffalo Bills strong safety Damar Hamlin is recovering after suffering a serious injury during a January 2 game against the Cincinnati Bengals.
The 24-year-old football player was in critical condition after going into cardiac arrest on the field. He woke up in the hospital two days later on January 4. He is said to be recovering in one of the latest updates.
Now, doctors are opening up about one of the first things he said upon waking up.

According to USA Today, one of the first questions Damar asked was about the outcome of the game. He was so curious that he wrote the question down for those around him.
Here’s how they responded: “The answer is yes, Damar, you won the game of life,” Dr. Timothy Pritts said.
The game was indefinitely postponed following Damar‘s injury. He was down on the field for more than 10 minutes before being taken to a hospital.
