The Poco X5 Pro will be officially announced for the Indian market on February 6 at 5:30 PM local time. This information comes straight from Poco India itself, via its official Twitter account, so the rumors did pan out. Not just that, but the leaked image we showed you last week is indeed the one that is being used to reveal the unveiling date and time.
And the star of the show, aside from the upcoming phone itself, is Hardik Pandya, a very popular Indian cricketer. His involvement with the Poco X5 Pro’s launch was first leaked about two weeks ago, when he was spotted taking a call on the yet-unreleased handset.

The Poco X5 Pro will apparently give you “the license to go MAD”, as well as to “kick the BAD” and “embrace the Bad-ass”, according to Poco India’s Twitter account and its ongoing teaser campaign. The display will be “magnifiXent”, and the phone will let you “crush your competition” in games and “make them say your name” (“them” as in “your competition”, we assume).
Those are, as usual, bold claims from Poco. If we go by past leaks and rumors, the X5 Pro should be powered by the Snapdragon 778G chipset, paired with 6/128GB of RAM/storage or 8/256GB. The screen is allegedly a 6.67″ AMOLED with 1080×2400 resolution, the main camera is a 108 MP one, flanked by an 8 MP ultrawide and a 2 MP macro shooter, while on the front you get a 16 MP selfie snapper.
The Poco X5 Pro reportedly has a 5,000 mAh battery with support for 67W wired charging (and no wireless charging), and the phone runs Android 12 with MIUI 14 on top. We’re now less than one week away from confirming (or disproving) these specs, so stay tuned.
