I Tried Tarte’s Maracuja Juicy Glow Foundation and I’m Glowing Like Never Before, Review, See Photos

Date:

By now, you’re probably sick and tired of seeing and hearing about the epic influencer trip Tarte hosted in Dubai. All of social media was talking about how lavish the entire itinerary was — from business class flights, private pools, and ATVs in the desert — so it’s obvious that Tarte really knows how to plan a trip. But what no one is really talking about is why Tarte through threw such an out-of-this-world press trip to build up the hype around its latest launch: the Tarte Maracuja Juicy Glow Foundation.

Lucky for me, I’ve been to Dubai, so while the trip was impressive  I wasn’t as blown away as the rest of the world. As a beauty editor, — I was more intrigued by the foundation. After all, after those Maracuja Lip Balms dropped, I became obsessed with their moisturizing formulas. As you can probably tell, this foundation also contains maracuja oil, which, according to cosmetic chemist Ron Robinson, is rich in brightening vitamin C. However, the formula is also loaded with hyaluronic acid so skin is hydrated all day and [vitamin E](https://www.allure.com/story/vitamin-e-skin-care#:~:text=Additionally%2C vitamin E has “moisturizing, the skin%2C” she says.){: target=”_blank”} to strengthens the skin barrier.

Tarte’s Maracuja Juicy Glow Foundation comes in 22 shades, which isn’t the most impressive shade range but also isn’t the worst. I shade-matched myself to 33S Medium Sand, which has golden undertones. The foundation comes in a squeeze tube with a pointed tip for precise dispensing. I started this trial by prepping my skin with sunscreen and then going in with the foundation. I personally use a good old-fashioned Beautyblender for blending but a foundation brush or hands would do just fine here too.

Upon blending, I immediately noticed that the glow this foundation gives is truly unlike any complexion product I have ever tried. My skin looked so hydrated and overall just lit from within. I finished off my makeup with the rest of my routine — Nars Laguna Bronzing Cream and Westman Atelier Baby Cheeks Blush Stick — and if I had to sum up the results in one word: glow.

Here I am with my full face on, wearing the Tarte foundation.

This product is marketed as medium-coverage, but with less or more product, it can also be toned down or built up to a light- or full-coverage finish. I will say this though: if you prefer a matte finish, this foundation is not for you. I personally love a dewy finish but even this one was bit much for me, so I did end up setting my T-zone with powder after I was done. But after all, the foundation is named Juicy Glow, so it’s not like Tarte didn’t warn me.

Tarte Maracuja Juicy Glow Foundation

That said, wearing this foundation won’t get you to Dubai, but if you’re looking for a major glow (and don’t mind a bit of powder to balance it out), consider this foundation as your new go-to. Tarte’s Maracuja Juicy Glow Foundation is available now for $40 at qvc.com and will be available on March 2 at tartecosmetics.com
