Happy Valentine’s Day to David and Victoria Beckham only! The longtime power couple has been the definition of true love since the late ’90s, and Victoria is throwing it back to 1997 with the sweetest ode to her husband — not to mention her iconic Posh Spice bixie cut.
Beckham shared two vintage pics of herself and her footballer husband in the early days of their relationship, and while the bixie in question is slightly hidden under the pop star’s baseball cap, you can see it peeking out in all its short and sweet glory. “26 years and still my Valentine, I love you so much,” Beckham wrote alongside the photos. While the pair have been together since 1997, the pics were shot in 1999, when the Posh Spice bob was still going strong. (We also love David’s frosted tips, a true ’90s mainstay.)
Though Beckham hasn’t slipped into her iconic black Little Gucci Dress too often since the Spice Girls went on hiatus in 2000, only revisiting the pop star role on occasion, she hasn’t forgotten her roots. The fashion designer and Victoria Beckham Beauty founder released a Posh-inspired line of lipsticks “I was young and shy, and being Posh helped me find my style and confidence, and my voice,” Beckham wrote of what the moniker means to her. “Posh forever changed the course of my life, opening the door for me to go after my dreams.” Aww!
Beckham experimented with her hair quite a bit post-marriage, including going blonde with long extensions and then chopping her equally iconic angled bob, but as of late she’s stuck to long, espresso brunette waves. The long hair is great, of course, but there’s something about that Posh bob that just sings. Victoria, it’s time to bring it back! The ’90s have never been more popular, after all.
