Nothing’s Phone (1) is now in the process of receiving a new software update. It’s the first one since the launch of the stable build of Nothing OS 1.5, which brought Android 13 to the Phone (1).
The new build, which started rolling out today as a 91MB over-the-air download, is labeled Nothing OS 1.5.3. It brings with it improvements in app loading speeds and better battery life thanks to a new memory management algorithm that reduces app restart times by over 35% and lowers CPU consumption.
Nothing OS 1.5.3 is here! Our first software update since the launch of Nothing OS 1.5, powered by Android 13.
The rollout has begun and will reach all Phone (1) users in the next couple of days.

You also get support for manually adding games to Game Mode, smoother animations, an “improved fingerprint transition between the lock screen and AOD”, new wallpapers, and improved system stability. There’s also support for Nothing’s upcoming Ear (2) true wireless earbuds, which will be announced next week.
Bug fixes are plentiful too. Aside from the general ones, singled out are fixes for abnormal appearance of Night Light mode, Glyph lights not showing for incoming WhatsApp calls, freezes during YouTube video playback, weather data not showing in the Quick Look widget, and the charging prompt flashing on the AOD interface.
Thanks for the tip!
