The vivo X Fold2 is getting announced this month, and today we learned about a huge upgrade coming to the new foldable. The V2266A device was certified on 3C (China Compulsory Certification, also CCC) with 120W charging capabilities, a huge improvement over the 80W rates on the previous X Fold+ phone.
The new phone will support chargers with model numbers V12060L0A0-CN and V12060L1B0-CN, which are vivo’s adapters with 20V at 6A charging. The X Fold+ was already the fastest-charging foldable smartphone on the market, even if it was limited only to China, but now the X Fold2 will push the bar even higher.
The charging rates might be increasing, and with them, the internal architecture for heat dissipation, but vivo promises a 10% lighter body, which means about 280 grams of weight for the X Fold2. The predecessor supported 50W wireless and 10W reverse wireless charging, and we are yet to learn whether these are staying at all.
