Nintendo has released its financial results for the first quarter of FY24, providing an updated view of the top ten best-selling Nintendo Switch games as of June 30th, 2023.
Given that we’ve already reported on the incredible numbers achieved by The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, it should really come as no surprise to see the sequel make its way into the top ten, bumping Ring Fit Adventure out of the runnings. Not only that, but Super Mario Odyssey has climbed the ranks to come in at number five this time, undoubtedly boosted by the release of The Super Mario Bros. Movie.
Otherwise, the list remains pretty much the same as it was back in May, albeit with slightly higher numbers for each game – obviously. We should give a hefty shout-out to Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, too, which has now sold a frankly ridiculous 55.46 million units, up by 1.67 million since the previous update.
Let’s take a look at the top ten, shall we?
- Mario Kart 8 Deluxe – 55.46 million (up from 53.79 million)
- Animal Crossing: New Horizons – 42.79 million (up from 42.21 million)
- Super Smash Bros. Ultimate – 31.77 million (up from 31.09 million)
- The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild – 30.65 million (up from 29.81 million)
- Super Mario Odyssey – 26.44 million (up from 25.76 million)
- Pokémon Sword and Shield – 25.92 million (up from 25.82 million)
- Pokémon Scarlet & Violet – 22.66 million (up from 22.10 million)
- Super Mario Party – 19.39 million (up from 19.14 million)
- The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom – 18.51 million
- New Super Mario Bros. Deluxe – 16.17 million (up from 15.41 million)
The numbers above are worldwide sales, combining retail, digital, and copies bundled with hardware.
