Welcome to October, Capricorn. You sea-goats seem to love this season, as it allows you to enjoy back-to-school vibes but also lets you show off your devilish side, thanks to Halloween. “Work hard and play hard” is a motto many Capricorns can relate to. Last month, you saw yourself becoming more emotionally intimate with those closest to you, even if you did make a few typos or fumble searching for the right words, thanks to Mercury retrograde. Thankfully, the communication goes direct on Sunday, October 2, and it’s not the only planet ending its backward dance this month.

At the end of April, Pluto, the transformative planet of death and rebirth, went retrograde in your sign, Capricorn. Over the past months, the stars asked you to be a bit selfish, focus on self-care, and channel your energy towards hobbies or professional projects that bring you satisfaction. Why? Well, the happier you are, the more satisfied you are with life. Sometimes Capricorns can come off as overly critical. But if you can focus that energy on your dreams rather than what your partner is doing wrong, you’ll see relationships with others flourish in addition to your one with yourself. So, when Pluto goes direct in your sign on Saturday, October 8, take the day off work if you can, reflect on the emotional progress that you’ve made, and try to spend the weekend with beloved friends or lovers.

Sunday, October 9, brings a full moon in Aries and turns your attention to your home life. You don’t need to go clubbing all night to celebrate your relationships and achievements. Even a relaxed dinner party or movie night will do.

Finally, your ruling planet, the taskmaker Saturn, ends its retrograde on Saturday, October 22, which began in June. Saturn, (like you at times) can be pretty strict, and during its backward dance, asked everyone to reexamine their boundaries. For you, sea-goat, this meant reflecting on work/life balance. We all have different needs depending on our unique situations, but no one deserves to be worked to the bone without proper compensation. Now that Saturn goes direct, you may find yourself searching for jobs with more flexibility or even working with teammates to unionize. Speaking in very general terms, Capricorns tend to work too much; you’re a very ambitious sign which derives great fulfillment from your work. It’s okay to take great pride in your work ethic, but notice if labor is affecting your health or personal relationships. Even Capricorns need downtime for rest

With that in mind, when sexy Scorpio season begins on Sunday, October 23, you’re ready for action, ideally on the dance floor rather than the boardroom (or Zoom meeting). For the next few weeks, your focus is your friendships. Stay safe, please, the pandemic isn’t over, but after so much isolation, you find yourself craving nights out on the town with your ride-or-dies. If you don’t know what your Halloween costume is, consider a group outfit this year, or check out some of these epic looks created with only makeup. The only night you really want to avoid drunk crowds is Tuesday, October 25, as it brings a new moon and solar eclipse in Scorpio. Eclipses may be cool, but in astrological terms, they are associated with paranoia, anxiety, and sudden endings. Save the drama for your costume and catch up on sleep around this time.

Try to plan your Halloween parties for Friday or Saturday because Mars goes retrograde in Gemini on Sunday, October 30. Mars is the god of war and governs f*cking and fighting, and when it goes retrograde, you may feel a bit lethargic at times. That’s totally okay. In fact, you probably need luxurious downtime and self-care after Halloween. But if you’re amped to go big this year, try to get your celebrations out of the way before the warrior planet goes retrograde. Have fun, be safe, and see you next month.
