Introduction
Infinix has been gaining traction outside of its usual markets, mostly thanks to its excellent midrange offers. Along with sister companies Tecno and Itel, the Chinese Transsion Holding’s maker has captured significant market share in Africa and South Asia and has been looking to expand its global reach.
While mid-rangers are Infinix’s forte, the company also dabbles in higher-end devices. These devices typically end up within the “Zero” family. This is where we find the Zero 30 5G that we have for review today.

It is an interesting device, for sure, with some higher-end features, like a 144Hz curved AMOLED display. However, the MediaTek Dimensity 8020 inside the Zero 30 5G is not exactly a proper flagship chipset. This puts the Zero 30 5G in an interesting position, even though it doesn’t arguably matter whether we call the phone a flagship or a mid-ranger. Infinix is clearly amid some sort of restructuring within its lineup, with a brand new “GT” family recently popping up as well with the GT 10 Pro.
Semantics aside, the Zero 30 5G looks like a pretty well-rounded device. It is rocking a large 5,000 mAh battery with fast 68W charging, a 108MP OIS-enabled main camera and 50MP selfie with 4K video capabilities, stereo speakers, both and FM radio receiver and NFC and a full set of sensors on board. We already mentioned the large and fast 6.78-inch display, which advertises a great 950 nits of max brightness.
As usual, the devil is in the details, though, and we need to put the Infinix Zero 30 5G through its paces before we offer any verdict. That Dimensity 8020, for one, is not a chip we have extensive experience with, even though it is technically a rebranded Dimensity 1100. We will be testing it extensively. Before any of that, however, here’s an unboxing.
Unboxing
The Infinix Zero 30 5G ships in a solid cardboard two-piece box. It is very sturdy and includes a plastic inside cradle for the phone itself. We do not doubt that it will keep the phone safe during shipping. The box itself is not colored in any particularly eye-catching manner.
Infinix is pretty generous with the included accessories. First and foremost, you get a 68W Infinix fast charger in the box along with a USB Type-A to Type-C cable. This is a non-standard cable with an extra pin inside, so you need to keep track of it and the charger if you want to properly use the phone’s fast charging. There is also a nice transparent TPU case in the box.
