Julio Urias has been arrested and charged with domestic violence, according to a new report from ESPN.
The 27-year-old Dodgers pitcher was arrested by LAPD on felony domestic violence charges over the weekend.
He was released on a bond of $50,000, and has an impending court date set for September 27.
This is actually the second time that Julio has been arrested for domestic violence in the past four years.
The first time was in 2019, and Julio received a 20-game suspension under Major League Baseball’s domestic violence policy.
Over the past few months, a few other baseball stars have been formally investigated and suspended over similar charges.
Yankees pitcher Jimmy Cordero was suspended, and Tampa Bay Rays‘ Wander Franco is being investigated for a relationship with a minor.
The Dodgers did make a statement on the situation with Julio.
We are aware of an incident involving Julio Urías. While we attempt to learn all the facts, he will not be traveling with the team. The organization has no further comment at this time.
