After a long teaser campaign, Xiaomi India finally announced its Redmi Pad Android tablet. This is the first slate in the Redmi lineup and it brings a compelling spec list alongside competitive pricing.
Redmi Pad brings a 10.6-inch LCD display with a 1200 x 2000 px resolution and 90Hz refresh rate. The screen is flanked by four speakers with Dolby Atmos tuning. The tablet is equipped with MediaTek’s Helio G99 chipset and can be configured with 3/4/6GB RAM and 64/128GB storage.
There’s a pair of 8MP cameras on the slate with the one on the front sporting a 105° field of view with FocusFrame – which tracks your movement during video calls. Xiaomi also packed an 8,000mAh battery with 18W charging support. The software side is covered by Android 12 with MIUI 13 on top and a guarantee for 3 years of software support and 2 Android version updates.
Redmi Pad comes in Graphite Grey, Moonlight Silver and Mint Green colors. Pricing in India starts at INR 12,499 for the 3/64GB trim. You can get the midway 4/64GB option for INR 14,499 while the top-end 6/128GB model will sell for INR 19,999. Open sales are scheduled for October 5 at 10AM local time via Xiaomi India online store and partnering retailers.
