Britney Spears just made a big change to her hair — but she’s not quite ready to show the whole look off yet.
The pop icon has apparently taken the plunge and gotten a new short haircut, according to her latest Instagram post. Spears shared a video of herself alluding to the change while enjoying a sunny day on the beach. She said she’d made the chop but this was definitely not the time to show it off.
“I cut all my hair off … I don’t want to show it yet,” she wrote, adding a few of her signature emojis to the end of the caption. (She chose the scissors, not the girl getting a haircut emoji.) We know the feeling, B! When you get a new haircut, you have to wait for exactly the right moment to debut it, and Spears has decided to give us a little tease before the full reveal.
In the video, Spears frolics topless on the beach with her hair hidden mostly under a pink hat. She’s still rocking her go-to honey blonde color, but it’s obvious she’s had some major length taken off. When Spears turns her back to the camera, you can see her cropped hair tied back in a ponytail and tucked underneath the hat; it looks as though the Glory singer has opted for a shoulder-length or slightly shorter cut and removed her long extensions in favor of something short and chic but still able to be pulled back. A pair of sunglasses and a watch are her only accessory as she rolls around in the water enjoying the weather. (Although we can’t help but notice our queen is looking a little bit sunburnt — Britney, put on some sunscreen!)
