Henry Cavill‘s portrayal of Superman in the DC Film Universe is so beloved that it is difficult to picture anyone else in the role.

To so many fans, it seems like it was made for him! However, he had to audition for it just like any other actor, and he faced some stiff competition by the sounds of it.

While doing some research, we stumbled across an interview where director Zack Snyder revealed his second choice to play the iconic superhero in 2013′s Man of Steel.
