Katy Perry is facing more backlash for her new album, 143.
Icelandic songwriter Arnthor Birgisson, who has worked with everyone from Celine Dion to Janet Jackson, spoke out on his now-private Instagram in a post on his Instagram Story, comparing her upcoming song “Nirvana” to the song he composed for Netflix’s Eurovision Song Contest, “Double Trouble.”
Fans on social media have been comparing the two songs’ striking similarities since “Nirvana” was first teased from Katy‘s upcoming 143 album, and the producer finally spoke out.

“@katyperry really showed some guts by hiring a harasser to produce her new album, but she couldn’t quite muster the courage to properly credit her inspirations,” he wrote in a screenshotted post on his Story, seemingly referring to the fact that Dr. Luke is producing Katy‘s album, following harassment allegations made by Kesha that led to a years-long legal dispute and eventually reached a settlement.
Katy recently debuted “Nirvana” live at the EVITA Party in West Hollywood, Calif.
Another star recently also called out Katy Perry for working with the producer.
