One Tree Hill is making a comeback!
It was revealed on Friday (August 30) that Sophia Bush and Hilarie Burton are developing a sequel series for Netflix, where they are set to reprise their roles and executive produce.
The new series is said to pick up 20 years later and centers on Brooke and Peyton. It is expected to see them dealing with “love, insecurities and grief” while raising their now-teenaged children.
Danneel Ackles is also set to executive produce, alongside husband Jensen Ackles, and she is also in talks to return.
After the news was announced, several actors who have either starred or guest-starred on the show throughout the years have reacted to the exciting news, with some even offering to reprise their roles!

Sophia and Hilarie, who co-host the Drama Queens podcast with former co-star Bethany Joy Lenz, both posted the same photo on Instagram, with the caption, “What if you really can go back home? If there’s an opportunity to team with brilliant creatives and build a space where all our friends can show off their talents? Own our history? Reclaim our turf? Honor our fans? Sign us up. There’s only one Tree Hill, after all. And you — the #OTHfam — have shown us that it’s not just an idea. It really is the place where ‘everything’s better and everything’s safe.’”
Many of their former co-stars took to the comments on both posts to share their excitement!
Bryan Greenberg, who recurred as Jake Jaglieski, commented, “👏👏 Jeyton? 😂” on Hilarie‘s post, and “👏👏” on Sophia‘s post.
Daphne Zuniga, who played Sophia‘s mom Victoria Davis, wrote under her post, “It’s time, darlings! 💎🍸” and on Hilarie‘s post, she said, “20 years later!? I will NOT have a walker. Unless it’s monogrammed. Xo Victoria”
