The Samsung Galaxy S22 series became the first to receive the stable version of One UI 5, many other Galaxy models will soon leave the beta stage and update to Android 13 as well. Here is the timeline for those updates – basically all eligible Galaxy S and Z devices (phones and tablets) will be updated by the end of this year, as will a good number of Galaxy A devices.
Samsung One UI 5 update timeline
This will leave some Tab A slates, lower end Galaxy A models and some rugged devices to update in the first two months of 2023. Note that this timeline comes from South Korea, the exact timing of the releases in other regions could differ.
The full list is below, broken down by month:
One phone is conspicuously absent and that is the Galaxy S21 FE. Seeing how the S20 FE is on the list, it should be only a matter of time before it gets One UI 5 too.
Note that the original source from Korea doesn’t quite clarify the situation for some models that have both 4G and 5G varieties, but that is due to regional availability – e.g. the Galaxy A23 5G is not available in the country, only the 4G model is. Also, carrier versions of the devices may be delayed in getting Android 13.
Still, Samsung deserves a pat on the back – Google finished Android 13 in mid-August and just over two months later some Galaxys are already making the jump. The time to update has really come down in the last couple of years.
