Ashley Tisdale is opening up about her health condition.
The 37-year-old High School Musical alum recently got candid and revealed that she’s been dealing with alopecia since her early 20s.
In a new video posted to social media, Ashley spoke about experiencing hair loss.
“Alopecia and hair loss are fairly common, but a lot of people feel embarrassed to talk about these issues. Any type of hair loss can affect your self-esteem, especially if you feel like you’re the only one going through it. That’s why I want to talk about it openly—because it’s nothing to be ashamed of,” she wrote.

Ashley went on to explain that she noticed a “bald patch” in her early 20s, and thought it began as part of “going through a stressful time.”
She believes stress management has been crucial, and discussed the treatments she’s previously tried, like PRP (AKA platelet-rich plasma), which is the process of injecting your own plasma into the scalp to help stimulate hair growth.
Ashley said the “hair grew back and it always does, thankfully, but there’s been a couple times in my life where I’ve had very stressful events and have noticed that [alopecia] will come back.”
She recently found out she’s related to a former Disney co-star.
