Visit the iconic Sagrada Familia

Gaudi’s amazing architectural wonder, the Sagrada Familia, is an absolute must-see on your travels. This site is one of Barcelona’s most popular tourist attractions. Explore the city’s parks

As spring starts to bloom, what better time to take advantage of the city’s parks. At the top of our list is the fabulous Parc Güell. Another of Gaudi’s wonders, this park is home to some truly brilliant architecture and beautiful gardens. You can spend the whole day here soaking in your surroundings. Be sure to visit the colourful serpentine bench and the Gaudi House museum, as well as the terrace: another fabulous spot to take in some city views.

Next up on our list of recommendations, is the Parc de la Ciutadella. This park is full of things to see and do, like taking a boat out on the lake or even visiting the city’s zoo. There is always lots going on here, with music, sunshine and picnics to enjoy. Take a stroll around the Parc de la Ciutadella and see for yourself!

Enjoy el Dia de Sant Jordi

If you happen to be in Barcelona on the 23rd of April, you will be in town for Sant Jordi’s Day, a day on which locals celebrate the patron saint of the region, Sant Jordi.

Throughout the course of the day, couples, families and friends exchange books and roses with one another and enjoy the festivities. There are many stalls and markets all over the city to explore, mainly centred around the Ramblas, Plaça Catalunya and Passeig de Gracia, however.

This day of celebration is a fun (and free!) cultural tradition to make the most of on your trip to the Catalan Capital.
