While filming for her new movie, Elizabeth Banks had a “scary” experience while in her trailer.
The 50-year-old actress opened up about the traumatic incident during her Good Morning America appearance on Tuesday (July 30) in New York City.
While alone in her trailer, Elizabeth was eating her lunch when a pea became lodged in her throat. “I threw the door open — couldn’t make any noise, was so afraid,” said Elizabeth of the experience, “It was terrifying.”
Elizabeth says this was her first time actually choking, which explains why she was so scared! Thankfully, a member of the crew caught sight of her and asked point blank if she was choking.
Once she confirmed what he thought, he “very calmly” performed the Heimlich maneuver on the actress.
“He had to do it twice,” Elizabeth explained. “His name is Julius. He is my guardian angel. Julius, I love you.”
After such a scary incident and the heroics of Julius, who Elizabeth says “saved her life,” the actress decided to speak up about the dangers of choking and use her platform to urge others to learn the Heimlich technique.
Elizabeth Banks is also filming a project for Prime Video and will be playing the sister of another very famous actress!
