Netflix has released a new trailer for Guillermo Del Toro‘s new movie Pinocchio!

Guillermo Del Toro’s Pinocchio is a stop-motion animated film that reimagines the classic tale of the fabled wooden boy with a whimsical tour de force that finds Pinocchio on an enchanted adventure that transcends worlds and reveals the life-giving power of love.

In a recent interview, Guillermo opened up about how much he bonded with Pinocchio when he first saw the movie as a child.

“It affected me because Pinocchio saw the world the way I saw it,” Guillermo explained. “I was a little bit enraged that people demand obedience from Pinocchio so I wanted to make a film about disobedience as a virtue, and to say that you shouldn’t change to be loved.”

The movie stars Gregory Mann, Ewan McGregor, David Bradley, Tilda Swinton, Christoph Waltz, Finn Wolfhard, Cate Blanchett, John Turturro, Ron Perlman, Tim Blake Nelson, and Burn Gorman.

Guillermo Del Toro’s Pinocchio will be released on Netflix on December 9.
