Hasan Minhaj was part of the box office hit It Ends with Us, and he was asked about all the rumored on-set drama that ensued between director/star Justin Baldoni and the cast – including star Blake Lively.
If you don’t know, the film was released over the summer but the press tour was shrouded with rumors that began after the cast did not pose with Justin at the film’s premiere. It was then discovered that numerous cast members were not following Justin on Instagram. Hasan and Justin both follow one another.

When asked by Esquire about the controversy behind-the-scenes, Hasan shared, “I can’t speak to other people’s experience, but everybody was very professional and cool to me. It was lovely and everybody was lovely, and it is just as disillusioning for me, because I’m like, what happened? Wait, what’s going on?”
“It was a strange, bizarre year, and I am a comic deep down, because there are moments where I’m laughing at it,” he said.
He then shared a Dave Barry quote with the mag, sharing, “’A sense of humor is a measurement of the extent to which we realize that we are trapped in a world almost totally devoid of reason. Laughter is how we express the anxiety we feel at this knowledge.’ This quote, he tells me, is the whole ballgame. It is about embracing the ‘cosmic joke.’”
