Helen Mirren is sharing some rare comments about her relationship with Liam Neeson.
If you didn’t know, Helen, 77, and Liam, 70, dated for several years in the 1980s after meeting on set of their 1981 movie Excalibur.
In a new interview, Helen looked back at her relationship with Liam, admitting that they “were not meant to be together.”

While speaking to AARP The Magazine, Helen shared revealed that “all my boyfriends had to have a shirt made by me.”
“I did make one for Liam, oddly enough,” Helen added when asked if Liam has one of her home-made shirts.
She went on to say that while she and Liam “loved each other,” their relationship was not made to last.
“We were not meant to be together in that way, but we loved each other very, very much,” Helen explained. “I love him deeply to this day. He’s such an amazing guy.”
Back in January 2018, Helen and Liam appeared together on The Graham Norton Show, where they revealed that they lived together when they dated.
“We didn’t date, we lived together for four years — we were a serious item for a while,” Helen said at the time. “Lucky me!”
