Jay Leno‘s serious medical emergency has been revealed, and it sounds pretty bad.
The 72-year-old former Tonight Show host suffered “serious burns” in a gasoline fire, he confirmed in a statement.
TMZ reported that the comedian was hospitalized on Monday (November 13) after a fire erupted in his car garage in Los Angeles, with one of the cars bursting into flames and leaving him with burns on his face. He was then taken to Grossman Burn Center for injuries.
“I got some serious burns from a gasoline fire. I am ok. Just need a week or two to get back on my feet,” he told Variety.
He was scheduled to perform at an event that evening, but told organizers that he had a serious medical emergency.
We are wishing the best to Jay Leno in his recovery.
