According to Navarone, he and mom, Priscilla Presley, says that a 2,000 lb. camel chomped down a bit too hard while he was feeding it.
“When I ran out of food, it bit me by the hand and lifted me up almost off my feet,” he recalled. “It then dropped me on the ground and pounced. While it was pouncing on me, it literally got my whole head in its mouth and bit me.”
Navarone then shared that the camel had been previously abused and the reaction to him not feeding it was part of his past life. However, sanctuary workers weren’t able to get the camel to release his hand from the camel’s mouth.
It was then a dog came to his rescue.
“The dog knew something was wrong and was freaking out and going at its face,” he shared. “That’s what got the camel off.”
Priscilla was there with him, watching the incident unfold. Navarone said that she was “traumatized.”
Following the incident, Navarone drove back to LA in order to get to an emergency room, even though the sanctuary had called 911.
“When we got to the emergency room, it was funny because everybody was sitting there with nothing too serious looking, meanwhile I had blood all over me,” he shared. He received 34 staples as a result.
Navarone‘s attack came a week before Lisa Marie‘s unfortunate passing.
“I mean, I was happy I survived before, but now it’s like, thank God I survived,” he concluded. “My mom would’ve lost two kids in two weeks.”
