The 35-Cent ALDI Freezer Find I Always Keep Stocked

Date:

I have fond memories of hearing the ice cream truck’s jingle as a kid and sprinting down the street with whatever coins I could scrounge up, hoping my favorite treat would be available. While the ice cream truck no longer has a hold on me, it’s a totally different story for my kids!

With ALDI’s PurAqua Frozen Juice Pops, I’ve found a happy medium that elicits the same childhood joy in my kids and makes this mama happy. Made from 100 percent juice, these freezer pops are my solution to the everyday struggle of “Mom, I’m hot!” or “Mom, can I have a snack (120 times a day)?” versus my brain always saying, “No more sugar!”

They’re not your typical sugary ice pop. In fact, I’m certain they’re a dupe of Deebee’s branded under a different name for ALDI. At $3.49 for a package of 10, they’re also a fraction of the price of Deebee’s.

Why I Love ALDI’s PurAqua Frozen Juice Pops

  • They’re made with real ingredients. What I love most about these pops is their simplicity. Made from 100 percent fruit juice and puree, they have no artificial additives and zero added sugar. It’s a welcome change from the sugar-forward frozen treats I grew up with. Any sweetness comes purely from the fruits themselves, but they satisfy my kids’ (and my) sweet tooth just as well—minus the post-sugar crash.
  • The flavor combinations are great. Each box includes a fun mix of flavors: Strawberry Lemon, Blueberry Pomegranate, and Mango Orange. They’re all good, so picking a favorite is hard. That said, I’m a fan of anything lemonade-like, so I love the tangy, sweet blend of the Strawberry Lemon pops.
  • They’re shelf-stable. I appreciate that I can stock up without worrying about them melting on the car ride home or using up my precious freezer space. I always keep a handful in the freezer, and when we’re running low, I pop a few more in. I also keep them in my pantry year-round to hydrate sick kids and soothe sore throats during cold season. It’s the ultimate “be prepared” mom move—something I’m not always good at.
  • They’re helpful. On scorching summer days, I’ve even taken a page from the Busy Toddler book and started doing our version of “popsicle baths,” an activity even my eight-year-old loves. Because these pops are allergy-free, I don’t have to worry when sharing them with other kids who come over to play. And on the nights when dinner’s running late and the kids are cranky, the pops buy me a few precious minutes of peace.

From popsicle baths to post-soccer game treats, they’ve saved the day more times than I can count. And I bet they’ll save yours, too!
