There’s a 2-Hour Version of ‘Babylon’ Shot on Damien Chazelle’s iPhone With Just 2 Stars!

Babylon exists as a very unique alternate cut!

Damien Chazelle’s Babylon, which clocks in at over three hours and nine minutes, exists in a much shorter version on the director’s iPhone.

During a recent interview, the director revealed why he has an iPhone version of his movie.

Damien said he prepared for filming in his backyard, and shot the project on his iPhone with only two actors: Diego Calva, who plays Manny Torres, and Olivia Hamilton, who stars as Ruth Adler and is Damien‘s wife.

“It’s a very tight, two-hour version of the entire movie, [filmed] on an iPhone in our backyard,” he revealed, via EW.

“We rehearsed the whole movie in his backyard, only Olivia, Damien and I,” Calva added. “It was a very uncommon kind of situation.”
