Gabrielle Union, in her natural element with her perfectly disheveled curls perched up into a bun, is a sight you can best believe we’ll take notice of. That, and the fact that she’s making waves with her baby-care brand, Proudly. Inspired by her daughter Kaavia James Wade, the actor and beauty entrepreneur teamed up with board-certified dermatologist Naana Boakye, MD, to create a family brand specifically designed for melanated little ones.
On September 18, she and her mini-me plus husband Dwyane Wade inaugurated the brand’s Target Launch with an impromptu product signing at the Woodland Hills Target location. Posing in front of the curation of Proudly baby care products, both Union and Kaavia wore pinned at-the-crown updos. While Kaavia’s bun was adorned with a bright red bow, Union’s hair gave all the feels of a perfectly imperfect poshly held together messy bun.
Tendrils of hair brushed Union’s face as they cohesively fell from her updo. She wore a mustard-yellow vest and pants and gave all the smiles while Kaavia gave all the poses. Larry Sims, Union’s hairstylist, appears to be the artist behind this look. Although some may find a messy bun as the ultimate throw-it-up-and-go, Sims has us craving a tutorial on how to achieve an updo as graciously put together as this one.
