Last month the vivo Y28 4G was certified by the FCC with a 6,000 mAh battery, and from that point on its official unveiling was an inevitability. Today it’s finally happened. The Y28 4G got official in Singapore, joining the 5G-capable Y28, which launched in January, in the company’s roster. Soon there will be an Y28s 5G too, but let’s not worry about that right now.
The Y28 4G is powered by MediaTek’s Helio G85 SoC, paired with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of expandable storage. It has a 6.68-inch 720×1608 LCD touchscreen with a 90 Hz refresh rate and 1,000-nit peak brightness, dual stereo speakers, a 50 MP main rear camera with a 2 MP depth sensor next to it, an 8 MP selfie snapper, and support for 44W wired charging for the aforementioned 6,000 mAh battery. The Y28 also has an IP64 rating for dust and splash resistance.
The phone runs Android 14 of course, with vivo’s Funtouch OS 14 on top. It is offered in Singapore in Agate Green and Gleaming Orange for SGD 269, which right now translates into approximately $199 or €185. Of course the pricing will vary should it make it to other markets in the future.
